This technology company had clear goals for their commercial remodel:

Open Work Space

Before

The main office area houses a reception desk, 4 new offices, 2 phone booths, 2 small conference rooms, and 4 cubicle stations that accommodate 20 people, a Kitchen/Break Room, and ADA Bathroom with shower. Two large conference rooms are adjacent to the main office.

The work space area was enhanced with natural lighting from its existing windows, with fresh new paint, existing track lighting and specific lighting in each offices. The natural lighting, along with the exposed brick, iron beams, wood ceiling, and iron posts give the entire space a warm feeling and helped the staff stay focused rather than distracted.

With an L-shape floor plan and ADA compliance, the floor design of the entire office space was constructed to allow for staff to easily move from one area to another without feeling blocked or crowded.

COMMERCIAL REMODEL OFFICE SPACE WITH STYLE AND CHARACTER

This old, historic building is revived with contemporary design and selection, new office furniture, and fun eye-popping colors! This particular office space included an old elevator machine that was used to transport goods from the ground level to the top floor back in the 1800s. The owners kept this non-functioning wheeled elevator in the office space and positioned a small meeting table underneath it. It is certainly a conversation starter before any meeting!

The Kitchen is the Hub of the Office

A home kitchen is where everyone in the family gathers to cook and dine, while the family living room is a place to unwind and relax, talk, read a book, or watch TV. Our clients wanted their office break room to become an indulging escape where staff could enjoy a cool, café style environment.

This open kitchen and lounge features a vibrant mix of bold and gray carpet colors, a waterfall granite countertop island, stainless steel appliances to include a self-serve espresso/coffee machine, granite kitchen countertops, wooden cabinets, lounge sofas equipped with built-in electronic charging outlets, high-top tables with colorful high chairs, and a TV. This space is now the #1 stop in the office before starting work, during breaks, and before leaving for the day.

The exposed-wood ceiling was also carried through the kitchen/break area with some existing light fixtures. Our team added a hand-crafted light fixture above the waterfall granite countertop, Consisting of gas pipes secured to the sides of the existing wooden beam.

The End Result

This client wanted to create an aesthetically pleasing and highly-functional, high-end boutique-style office in an historic building. They wanted modern design and contemporary selections, but still wanted to keep the historic integrity and beauty of the building. Schroeder exceeded their expectations with this commercial remodel!
